Friends are kept
in the heart forever... !

One day my host mom said to me "Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Didn't you come here to study how to speak English? I know you're shy, but I want you to talk with us more." I was excited to go to Canada. It was my dream to go and study abroad. But it wasn't easy to communicate in English. I was shocked that I couldn't speak English so well. It was hard to make friends. It made me remember why I had come to Canada. I said "Thank you mom, I'll do my best." I changed from that day ; I tried to talk with a lot of people. I found that they were very kind. If I mistook some English, they corrected it. I was so happy. My host brother, Zane was my English teacher. He taught me how to speak English, helped me with my homework (I helped his math.), and corrected my pronunciations.

I had a lot of awesome experiences. I'm going to tell you my favorite memories. One of my most favorite events is school dances. We dressed up, and danced to music at the school gym with my friends. It was really fun. I went to winter formal, Halloween dance, Valentine dance, and spring flag. I wish I could do it again.
The place I went to was really cold. I went to snowboarding, skidooing, and tubing in December to April. I had never tried these things before. It was really new for me. I'm proud I went to those places. Halloween was fun. We dressed up what we wanted to and went to school. We had an event "whose costume is the best?" I didn't win, but everyone's costume was really cool. I liked it. After school I went trick or treating with my host sister Chantel. I got a lot of stuff.
Every Monday, I had ballet class. I was taking ballet class in Japan, so I wanted to take it in Canada too. It was a little different from that in Japan. It wasn't classical one, so it was really new for me. I had lot of fun in this class. I had dance recitals at 2 places. They were big. I danced to one song and we practiced it a lot. It was awesome. Thanks to the teacher, I could learn new staff.
In June, before I came back to Japan, I had a GOOD BYE PARTY. We went to the inside pool. My host parents rent the place for me. So there were just us. It was so cool, and fun ! We jumped into the pool together, and did water slider together. That was the last time to see my friends who live in the far place. But I didn't cry, because I want to smile when saying good-bye. It was really fun to hang out with my friends.
Other events are really cool, Christmas, Easter day, Remembrance Day...

In the school I took art, clothing, math, and band first semester. Math was very easy. I taught it to my friends. I played the flute in band class. It was hard, but at the same time it was fun to learn it. I played it at the event. I was nervous, but it was fun to play with my friends.
I took gym, geography, food, and family studies. In geo class, I learned a lot of things about Canadian geography. The test was really hard for me. But at the same time it was good for me to learn about it. In family studies class, I learned about relationships. I went a retirement home in the class to play cards and bingo with old people. It was cool. They asked me about Japan. They liked to learn about Japan.
Those classes were really new, cool, and awesome for me. Thanks to teachers, I could learn a lot of things and improve my English.

During my stay in Canada, I was laughing a lot every day. However it was fun to be with my host family who is my second family, my sister and brother. I didn't want to come back to Japan. Also it was great to meet my best friends ever ; I can talk to about anything.
"Friends are kept in the heart forever." The card my friend gave me said it when I left there. I cried and cried. I didn't want to leave. They were too nice. I want to say thank you to my friends, host family, and school. I wish to see them again someday.

I went there to learn English But I got a lot of awesome and new experiences, friends, and family.
I'm grateful to SENDAI IKUEI, my coordinator and people in Canada for their help. I won't forget such a cool experience I had. This is my treasure! And in Canada I found my dream to become an international tour manager. I promise I will make my dream come true which I found in Canada. I'm sooooooooo excited to go to university and learn about international tourism.

Thank you for everything !!!
